Level 3 Media production

We was taken to the photography studio were we was shown how to properly use the equipment especially the lights and what they are particularly used for , for example the last lights at the back are used for the back drop , for example if the backdrop is white it should appear white when you take photographs. You should always have the lights on the highest setting (1-6) , it all depends were you position the projector . If you was too have a image used as a backdrop the image has to be at a decent image size to appear behind either the model or the object . Examples of this is shown below were the projector presents the image on the backdrop and it should appear as normal , the lights should always be kept at a 45 degree angle , do show a contrast between artificial light and real light. There is particular set up for taking photographs for example in the picture below 3 light set up. 

F // 1.8 , 2.8 4 , 5 6 , 8 ,11,16,22 This way adds more light travels through the lens   The higher the number less light through the lens It controls the amount of light that travels through the lens . The opening scene we are analysing is called Black Panther. The Genre is   Action , adventure , science fiction and Fantasy . For example the background which can be known as an establishing shot is called a CGI   , they use computer graphics to generate a believable location , for example the waterfalls aren't actually there , they implicate them in to go alongside with the genre and setting of the film . In black panther there is particularly a lot of action being shown , most camera angles are being shot from a low angle which could symbolise each character has a particular moment of power. They may feel inferior to one another . There is a particular part in this scene where there are close ups of the cameras face which then makes him the point of focus of the film . Suicide Squad : In the introduction of the character Harley Quinn we first see extreme close ups of the main character this is so that we can see the characters truth emotion . Another thing we pick up that the lightning is quite artificial which makes the room dark and gloomy this then creates suspense for the audience. There is a clear is shot reverse shot between the two characters , this could be the introduction to a new character , because its showing they are having a conversation . Another thing that could create suspense and build up tension is the clear establishing shot at the beginning showing a clear visual of a dark and misty gate way this could be empathising the gate ways of hell , the way the whole thing is set in the dark could illustrate that Harley Quinn is a evil character. The photography I am interested in is journalistic and product (advertising) / editorial photography because I think it's the most interesting , for example with journalism I think the whole idea were the image is monochrome where the whole image is black and white this is not with every type of photojournalism , this is particularly with editorial photography ( journalism) . I have chosen editorial journalism because the images have real emotion for example the images I have chosen the close ups they have used shows the effect for example the two images .   What went well What needs improvement Context In terms of pre planning for example gathering our ideas and finding out what our lucky dip then making textual analysis were quite simple   Provide more context Research I found researching about our project quite easy because I found out the key information that I needed for the advert / presentation.   I could of expand the knowledge that I found in my research and applied it to my advert. Planning and Practical skills Editing also creating a storyboard was my strong points. What needs improving is the filming for example we filmed the whole advert handheld it would have looked more professional if we used a tripod for majority of it. Evaluation In terms of teamwork we worked very well together , we divided roles for example Chlores and Omar were the actors for this particular advert , the concept of the video was too have a business man and a women who's a athlete , we wanted to advertise two different ways you can use a smart watch for example fitness and time . When it came to filming myself and Gouda took it upon ourselves to take it turns to film , so that we could both capture the vision that we wanted for the advert . When we was filming the process was very smooth because we all knew exactly how we wanted the advert to look.  There was defiantly a lot of advantages  , working together because we ended producing a very high standard smart watch advert.
