Apertures / shutters

F // 1.8 , 2.8 4 , 5 6 , 8 ,11,16,22

This way adds more light travels through the lens

The higher the number less light through the lens

It controls the amount of light that travels through the lens .

SHUTTER SPEEDS

1/8  1/15 1/30 1/60 1/125 1/250 1/500

Slow shutter speed       fast shutter speed

This determines how fast or slow that amount of light travels through the lens

Shallow depth of field - the background is out of focus and the foreground is in focus .

Depth of field - when the foreground is out of focus and background is in focus

If you want to create a blur effect you use a slower shutter speed

F 1.8 ,  2.8 4 , 5 6 , 8 , 11 , 16 , 22
½ ¼ ⅛ 1/15 1/30 1/60 1/125 1/250 1/500

To compensate for exposure you need a faster shutter speed ( exposure time and exposure of the light ) getting the shallow depth of field .

M - Manual # ( control both aperture / shutter speed)
A - aperture ( you control the aperture )
S - Shutter priority ( capture movement / light )
