Professional Practise Evaluation / reflection
We did a series of different professional practise work , which included writing our own Cvs and websites which will build up with time depending on the work or knowledge we have to add to the cv or website . We was even asked to look at the available the jobs in the media industry , which when was then interesting applying to for the foreseeable future . We also got to write our own cover letters which gave us a chance to write in a professional format , addressing the employer and adding some key facts and knowledge about ourselves , we got to add a lot of persuading detail for example I wrote about how I currently train with the BBC and what I actually do there in terms of what I have learned and what I have experienced there so far . I also wrote about how I also got into a prestigious company called weiden + Kennedy advertising agency , who work for well known companies such as Nike and Sainsbury , I also incorporated all these facts into my cv , by writing a cv it gives a chance for the employer to see what you capable of and what qualifications you have .
Looking back on all the work I have done for the unit professional practise , it has made me see the media industry in a new light , but one thing I really struggled with this unit was building my own website , I couldn't really put my website together in the best format , it was quite challenging because it took me longer than most people to finish , I didn't exactly know what to put on my website because I had made a website before , but it wasn't in relation to me so therefore it was quite easy to know what to put on it , but in this case the website was about me and my work so I had to think long and hard about what I was going to put on it , and how well it was going to be presented. I did struggle quite a bit with this website making but gradually , my website started to come together , I showcased some on my work on the home page then I had a separate page for photography and film then a contacts page then an about page . Overall my website turned out great despite the challenges I faced a long the way.
Building my own Cv was quite interesting because you had to fit a lot on just A4 page but it had to be an interesting looking cv because its the media industry , if an employer sees a lot of words they might instantly think that this candidate isn't really that interesting especially when applying for creative role in the industry , so me I had to make sure my CV was quite formal , but in practical in terms of the way it looks , so I did it on a website called canva which lets you experiment , with your Cv to add aspects of creativity , I didn't exactly struggle in this area of professional practise I would say it was one of my strengthens , but in case I was actually writing about my strengthens in my Cv . In terms of why I decided to do my cv in this particular format is due to the fact I like the way its presented and the way its actually laid out , makes it seems more appealing to the employer , overall I liked writing my cv it got me to showcase a look of my creative ability .
In conclusion professional practise was quite a productive unit it included various task that I quite enjoyed , it gave me quite a huge insight on the future , and what we should be prepared for , Professional practise made me adapt and expand my skills further in terms of
