Photography Studio Induction
We went to A1 which is where the photography studio is so we could have our photography induction we were told about bone lights , nikon DSLR cameras , backdrops , equipment and how to use the hotshot mail on top of the camera to use for the bone lights .
In terms of lighting used each light has a particular purpose for the example what is known as the main light , called the key light , the green button is testing the flash .
what is known as the fill light , it usually used to get rid of shadows appearing in the images , and the third light is usually known as the back light used for things like hair ( making images look more defined).
We also learned about where the models should stand if we are using models , scott said the models should stand away from the back drop 5 to 6 ft. away so that the image is captured properly . There 6 different settings on the light for example 1 setting is a lower setting , and if you set the light at 3 for a start for beginners . Everything about lighting is to make it look professional - soft boxes they defuse the light and soften the light .
There are different colours in photography one being monochrome which in photography terms is black and white then there is vivid which is adding colour to a image. Scott showed us both examples of monochrome and vivid photography . here is an image below of the photography set up.
we then went in groups and had a chance to use the cameras to our own ability , you can see a few examples below.
