Chemigraphy – Created by the lumeire brothers related to
photography.
Framing and composition
Semiotics:
Denotation – Is literally what you see, known as the
apparent meaning, it’s to signify something.
Connotation – Is the hidden meaning or hidden message or
what is being signified.
Universal symbol – for example coca cola the slogan is “taste
the feeling”, target audience – adults musicians, teenagers, concerts and festivals.
Mise en scene – Is everything you see in front of the camera,
for example lightning, props, costume, framing, camera angle. Location and
establishing shots.
First thing you are drawn to is the thing that is in the
focus area for example the coca cola bottle, the rest of the image is out of
focus because they want you to souly focus on what they are advertising (this
is called Shallow depth of field) means foreground is in focus and the background
is out of focus.
Anchorage – When text adds more meaning to the image. (Either
a slogan or catchphrase).
